We can all get inspiration from the things that communities in Scotland and around the world are already doing to tackle climate change, and there are plenty of tools out there to help new groups get started.

Here are a few ways to get things going:

• Running a local participatory event to ask everyone what changes they’d like to see and how they’d like to make it happen
• Skills and resources for community organising – training and publications
• Schools getting active – sources for teachers and parents
• Promoting the vision of a climate-friendly future – models and ideas for how it could look
• Challenging the activities of corporations – groups that can help
• Lobbying and challenging political decision-making – how do we begin?
• Ways of taking action at a national level – some existing campaigns
• Ways of taking international action – find out about the networks thatalready exist
• What about direct action? What is it and what role does it have?
• Cultural activism – from climate operas to clowns
