How will climate change impact Scotland?

Phone box in waterClimate change is already here, and todays greenhouse gas emissions will certainly have implications for Scotland. It is important that we reduce our emissions now, to minimise the future impacts. However, we will also need to adapt to the changes which are inevitable because of our historical emissions.

The website of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency shows the impacts of climate change that have already been observed here in Scotland, as well as the predicted changes in the future.

The Scottish Climate Change Impacts Partnership was set up to help organisations adapt and plan their resilience to the challenges presented by climate change. Its website can give you access to an online handbook of climate trends across Scotland, as well as information about changes in the incidence of flooding, the impacts on agriculture, forestry and peoples health in Scotland.
