For nearly twenty years SEAD has worked in partnership with universites to place students in communities as part of their learning and research.
SEAD placements allow students to gain first-hand experience of working in a community development as well as conduct field research for their academic work. Students work to empower the communities they work in, offering their knowledge and skills to mentor people in achieveing their development goals. In turn, students learn from the people they work with, and gain valuable work experience whilst studying.
Student placement partnerships have been our longest running project, and have made valuable contributions to the students who have participated in them and the communities in which they have worked.
Our current partnership is with Moray House Institute of Education at the University of Edinburgh. In the past we have also worked with the universities of Glasgow, St. Andrews and Heriot Watt University.
