On Sunday 21st September, Switch On to Climate Change ran Scotland’s first big Clothes Swap- O – Rama and it was a roaring success!

A demonstration of community action in action, the clothes swap-o- rama brought together over 300 people for a fun Sunday afternoon full of thriftiness, creativeness, education, music and socialising. Each swapper brought a bag of clothes and everyone dove in and found themselves some new treasures. Waste Innovations provided excellent workshops on making new things from old clothes and local musicians created a chilled out Sunday atmosphere to swap by. Switch On to Climate Change created a green finger video with the swappers and provided a screening area with the “Story of Stuff” connecting our over consumption of stuff with the huge number of environmental and social issues. Swappers were calling out for the next event so maybe a pre-Christmas Pressie Swap – O – Rama could be in the pipelines…… we’ll keep you posted.
